As the marriage between NRM and DP parties grows stronger , Gen Salim Saleh the OWC Chief Coordinator and Senior Presidential Adviser for Defence has presided over DP President and Minister of Justice Nobert Mao’s homecoming and thanks giving at Kaunda grounds in Gulu city . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his address Gen Saleh said that the function was not a DP function, not Mao’s function but a Uganda’s function . ” The partnership between Dp and NRM isn’t about politics but realignment of strength,” he stated .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mao joined in as said “a tree can’t fight its root,” meaning that national leadership need dialogue and cooperation among the different political actors .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gulu Archdiocese Vicar General , Msgr Mathew Odong asked the Acholi politicians to unite to ensure the development of the Acholi sub region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We cannot keep fighting one another , lets use today as the beginning of a new day in our lives . we should embrace Mato Oput as we welcome our son , Norbert Mao, ” Odong preached,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added , “We should not let political parties , faith or culture divide us. We are one in Christ and we should use this day to create change in our lives .”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the VIPs who attended the function included Hajji Moses Kigongo gthe NRM Vice Chairman , the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, DP Vice President Mukasa Mbidde and DP Secretary General Gerald Siranda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
