The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations\u00a0 and President and President Yoweri Museveni \u2018s son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is in \u00a0Kigali where he will bilateral talks with officials from Kigali and also \u00a0celebrate his birth at an event to be hosted by Rwanda\u2019 s President Paul Kagame tomorrow \u00a0Monday, April 24 2023. \u00a0

Muhoozi arrived at Kigali International Airport aboard the trusted national carrier the Uganda Airlines in the company of two Ugandan cabinet ministers In charge of Justice and \u00a0Constitution Affairs Norbert Mao and Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, \u00a0Minister of Security. \u00a0

Others in com[any of Muhoozi are journalist Andrew Mwenda, Kitgum Woman MP Lillian Aber, his cousin Alexander Mukonzi Akandwanaho, businessman Geoffrey Kalugira, Eng. Joel Aita and lawyer Elison Karuhanga the son of veteran politician Elly Karuhanga among others.

Gen Kainerugaba and his team were received by the Commander of the Rwandan Republican Guard \u00a0Maj Gen Willy Rwagasana and the Rwanda Defence Forces Spokesman Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga. \u00a0

President Kagame is slated to host Gen. Muhoozi who calls him \u201cuncle\u201d together with \u00a0his delegation for a dinner to mark his 49th birthday. The event will be preceded by talks about the trade relations between the two sister countries and regional EAC security matters , sources told this publication. \u00a0

Last year, Gen Kainerugaba visited Rwanda three times with the initial visit to Kigali leading to the \u00a0reopening of the Gatuna border which had been closed for three years.

The Rwandan leader also flew to Kampala and attended a State Dinner on Gen MK\u2019s 48th birthday. President Kagame, who fought in the Uganda bush war of 1981-86, held several discussions with his Ugandan counterpart.

During the Rukundo Egumeho Thanksgiving Concert held on Wednesday, April 19 in Kabale, Gen Kainerugaba said that since the reopening of the Gatuna border, trade between Uganda and Rwanda has tremendously improved, reaching an all-time high of\u00a0 $20m in business transactions per month. \u00a0

Before the closure, Gen MK said the annual trade was $200 million, which translated to $17m per month. During the period the border was closed the figure stood at $60,000, according to records from the Bank of Uganda. \u00a0<\/strong>
