According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), there was a general improvement in the performance of candidates in all districts across the country. The Results released on Friday show that all the 136 districts \u00a0that had candidates for the PLE exams \u00a0had pupils who passed in division one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The central and western regions\u00a0 topped in the PLE exams with the highest number of candidates that passed in division one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kampala and Mbarara districts were among the districts with the highest number of candidates who passed in division one with 12,896 and 3,636 pupils respectively .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Masaka had 3,120 candidates pass in division one while Bushenyi had 2,116 , sheema 1,965 and Mitooma 1,428. Wakiso had 21,588 candidates, Mukono 6,018 and Ntungamo2,273 in division one .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Northern Region , Lira , Kitgum and Gulu districts performed well while in the East, Jinja , Mbale , Iganga and Kamuli had the highest number of candidates in division one . In Karamoja region , Moroto, Napak , Nakapiripirit topped the other districts while in West Nile region ,Arua , Koboko ,Adjumani and Yumbe performed well .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to UNEB, a total of 114,617 (representing 12.1%) passed in division in 2022 compared to 81,864 (representing 11%) in the same division in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was also important to note that there was an increase in the number of candidates who registered for PLE exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 832,654 candidates from 14,691 centres registered for the PLE exams in 2022 compared to 749,761 in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
