The Kamdini bus accident death toll has increased to 19 as public anger growths following rising number of accidents on the country\u2019s highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Police Spokesman for North Kyoga Patrick Jimmy Okema, Bus Registration Number UAT 259P which belongs to Roblyn bus company was traveling from Kampala to Gulu when it rammed into a stationary trailer at around midnight January 6th 2023 at Kamdini \u2013 leaving 19 Ugandans dead and several others injured . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police has since revised the number of the dead to 19 and several others are still in hospital. The 21 people who have been admitted in hospital are ; Akello Mary Lucy 44 year old from Kitgum, Auma Rose 47 year old from Kitgum, Oyo Francis 38 year old from Lamwo, Akanya Caroline 30 yrs old from Kitgum, Alimo Nancy 20 year old from Kitgu, Oluka Morris 28 year old from Gulu, Acele Denis 43 year old from Kitgum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others are Okwera David 35 year old from Kitgum, Okecha Patrick 36 year old from Zombo, Anyway Benson 55 year old from Pader, Akello Flavia 32 year old from Kitgum, Odur Albert 43 year old from Gulu, Acaye Joseph 30 year old from Gulu, Ayaa Beatrice 30 year old from Kitgum, Agwech Kevin 34 year old from Kitgum, Laker Christine 40 year old from Kitgum, Nafuna Rehema Sarah 27 year old from Mukono and Acen Proscivia 24 year old from Kitgum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of the public talked to by this publication have since called upon cabinet to discuss this matter of national importance to institute serious measures to stop the carnage on Ugandan roads. Many of the accidents are attributed to human error as a direct result of reckless driving , poor or lack of training of drivers and an apparent lack of effective enforcement of the traffic law and regulations on our roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Law enforcement has also pointed a finger to government officials especially those driving government cars for not following traffic rules and regulations . \u201d When the law is applied selectively , the rest of the public also violates the same rules . When people see the untouchables violating our laws then they also follow suit ,\u201d a legal brain involved in road safety issues stated . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
