Uganda Airlines CEO Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki has been elected the President of the Africa Airlines Association (AFRAA) for 2023. She replaces Mr. Alioune Badara Fall the CEO of Air Senegal .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bamuturaki was elected President at the 54th<\/sup>\u00a0AFRAA Annual General Assembly held in Dakar, Senegal. Uganda will host the 55th<\/sup>\u00a0AFRAA Annual General Assembly and Summit in November 202 3 and more that 500 delegates across the aviation industry in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America- are expected to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bamuturaki in her acceptance speech said she will work to eliminate bureaucracy and red tape that slows intra-Africa connectivity, creating pathways for increased partnerships and collaboration within the continent to reduce the fragility of start-up Airlines and support initiatives that promote sustainable operations of Airlines on the continent by taking bold steps to invest in research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also promised to advocate open skies through fully operationalisation of the Yamoussoukro declarations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the\u00a0AFRAA President is expected to do<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President is expected to have the ability and willingness to effectively participate in all meetings and activities of the Association ; To enhance the exposure of the Association in areas where it is not well known; To enhance and strengthen the members\u2019 identification and sense of belonging within the Association. Other roles include the mission to promote, serve African Airlines and champion Africa\u2019s aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
