Uganda\u2019s automakers Kiira Motors Corporation Ltd who are championing green mobility solutions in Africa have handed over one of their premium products \u2013 the Kayoola EVs -fully electric bus to Uganda Airlines to support its operations at the Entebbe International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Uganda Airlines CEO Ms. Jennifer Bamuturaki received the keys for the Kayoola EVs bus from the Kiira Motors Corporation Executive Chairman ,Prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri- Togboa at the company \u2018s offices in Entebbe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new electric bus marks a journey of running sustainable operations at the Uganda Airlines. .We are embracing electric transport to offer a unique experience for our guests at the airport while also mitigating against the negative effects of pollution and the rising cost of fuel. We are happy that a Ugandan company -Kiira Motors is ready to supply to us the Kayoola Electric buses for our operations ,\u201d Bamuturaki stated .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The move follows  President Yoweri Museveni\u2019s  directive that Uganda should transition from  fossil fuels to E-mobility to reduce pollution and offer an organized -cheap transport solution for Kampala city and other urban centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the president these quick interventions will help to  decongest the city as commuters will adapt to a modern , quick  , safe and clean Rapid Mass Transport System within Kampala city and other urban centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof . Tickodri said that Kiira Motors -Uganda\u2019s automotive industry flagship was taking the lead to realise the government of Uganda \u2018s initiatives -towards building a robust, competitive and sustainable mobility industrial value chain in the country .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal is to  produce 500,000 vehicles  annually in Uganda by 2030- along with the establishment of efficient, integrated, sustainable, safe and inclusive public transport system(s); and promotion of environmentally friendly transport solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
