Nobody player for any reason had the chance to challenge his decision, and the players who did were often viewed by Collina reminding them that he is still in charge of the game being played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1995, and after only 43 Serie A installations as referee in charge, Collina was then used as an official non the FIFA spotlight, his most most memorable international game was at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he directed, controlled and referred in five different games, including the last game which was the final between Argentina and Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years later, the Italian was later named among a set of referees to officiate in the 1998 World Cup in France, prior to being chosen as a referee for the 1999 Champions League game between Manchester and Bayern Munich, in which the game was won 2-1 in injury time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collina was picked by FIFA to officiate during the 2002 World Cup final in Yokohama, and later on he was picked to officiate the 2004 UEFA Champions League final game in Gothenburg.
