By Sunday morning Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL) had not restored the Airtel to bank wallet services after hackers attacked their systems and stole an unspecified amount of money said to be in billions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bank wallet services have been off since Friday midmorning leaving customers frustrated . Sources have told ugandaupdatenews.com<\/strong><\/em> that hackers broke into Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL) systems\u2014 disrupting services . Many Ugandans transfer money on their mobile phones -a development that had hitherto reduced traffic in the banking halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following the glitch , leading commercial banks that include Stanbic and Absa have sent out messages to their customers “that there ‘s a temporary disruption in account to wallet transactions. For now, please use the ATM.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n Some customers told this publication that they had initiated transfers with money leaving their bank accounts but was not reflected on their mobile phones .
