President Yoweri Museveni has ordered the appointment of Jenifer Bamuturaki as the substantive Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister of Works and Transport\u00a0General Katumba Wamala, has written to the Board Chairperson of Uganda Airlines\u00a0Priscilla Mirembe Serukka to appoint\u00a0Jenifer Bamuturaki as the Substantive Chief Executive Officer of\u00a0Uganda National Airlines Company Ltd, trading as Uganda Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bamuturaki has been the acting CEO of the national carrier since the termination of Cornwell Muleya service who also was acting CEO. Before Muleya, Ephraim Bagenda acted in the same position from January 2018 to October 2019 before passing the acting baton to Muleya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bamuturaki becomes the first substantive CEO of the revived national carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ordering the appointment of Bamuturaki, Katumba Wamala invoked a directive by President Yoweri Museveni on April 24th. It is not clear why it has taken two and a half months to implement the directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muleya, a Zambian national, was dramatically arrested a couple of weeks back after suing the government for compensation over the unprocedural termination of his contract. The IGG arrested him for not honouring summons over alleged irregularities which led to the suspension of 13 senior managers, himself included.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
