Oulanyah gets sympathy vote for his fallen father the late speaker Emeritus Jacob Oulanyah<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NRM ‘s Mr Andrew Ojok Oulanyah has registered a landslide victory in the Omoro County by-election parliamentary seat . the son of the late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah beat five other contestant by more that 14,224 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closest contender, Mr\u00a0Simon Toolit Akecha of the National Unity Platform (NUP) only managed to get 1,633 votes, according to the results released by Electoral Commission. The other contenders got 1,124 among themselves . This is means that with over 38,000 registered voters in Omoro, the by-election attracted a low turn -up with just about half the number of voters going to the polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Election observers attributed the low turn -up to the heavy rains and some cases of intimidation by the supporters of the various political camps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
