Security beefed up ahead of the polls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The much awaited Omoro by-election to replace the late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah are set for tomorrow and the Electoral Commission Chairman Justice Simon Byamukama has called upon the candidates and their polling agents and support to observe the set guidelines to ensure peaceful exercise .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is heavy security deployment to ensure that there is no violence or intimidation of voters during the polling exercise . According to the EC Spokesperson Paul Bukenya 38,638 voters are expected to cast their votes at 84 polling stations . The voting will commence at 7am and end at 4 pm . Several political party leaders are campaigned in Omoro including the NRM Secretary General Richard Towdong and Leader of Opposition -Mathias Mpuuga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Byamukama said that the tally center shall be restricted to only those accredited . The campaigns for the hotly contested seat ended on Tuesday with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni campaigning for the ruling party NRM flag bearer Andrew Ojok Oulanyah . He addressed party members at Odek primary, Odek Sub-county in Omoro District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President highlighted key achievements the party has registered as well as other development programs that the NRM intends to implement for the people of Omoro  district.
