Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny-Dollo has made a pubic apology for comments he made at the vigil of the late Jacob Oulanyah, alleging that the \u201cleader of an ethnic group\u201d had been flown to Germany for treatment aboard the presidential jet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Owiny-Dollo, has since apologised to Kabaka Mutebi and pledged to engage the leadership at Mengo to ensure good working relations going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hereby unequivocally, unreservedly and of my free volition, wholly retract that reference and also hereby tender my apology to His Majesty the Kabaka. I will communicate to the Katikkiro of Buganda in writing,\u201d Owiny-Dollo wro in his apology which was released to the public .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The apology comes amidst the heavy criticism Owiny-Dollo has faced from various groups over his \u2018tribal\u2019 comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga issued a statement calling for calm and cool headedness among leaders, as the country mourned Oulanyah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayiga, in a veiled barb aimed at Owiny-Dollo, confirmed that Kabaka had indeed travelled to Germany for treatment using KLM Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
