Hardly a month since Uganda sent its troops to neighbouring DR Congo to pursue the terrorist ADF , the President of the DR Congo Senate HE Modeste Bahati Lukwebo has arrived in Uganda for a three day working visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala said that the main purpose of Lukwebo’s visit is to further bolster the excellent cordial bilateral relations between the Republic of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“Uganda and the DRC enjoy excellent and cordial bilateral relations, reflecting a history of close political, economic and socio-cultural ties and common mutual interests. These interests are pursued under the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) which is framework for bilateral cooperation, and was established in 1986,” the statement reads in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials said that President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander In Chief of Uganda’s armed forces will meet H.E. Modeste Bahati Lukwebo at State House to discuss ways of strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lukwebo will also meet Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah the Speaker of the Republic of Uganda and will visit Nshara Industrial Park as well as officiate at the opening of the Zhang Beef Factory in Mbarara. He was received in Uganda was received by a delegation of government officials of both countries led by Ms.Harriet Ntabazi, the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu\u00a0 Special Presidential Advisor, H.E. James Mbahimba the outgoing Uganda\u2019s Ambassador to the DRC, H.E. Jean Pierre\u00a0 Massala the Acting Ambassador of the DRC to Uganda,\u00a0 Dr. Edith Namutebi Counselor Uganda Embassy Kinshasa, Mr. Stephen Kaboyo Chairman Sino Uganda and other members of the business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
