While the government maintains that no learners have been promoted in the nearly two years of schools closure due to the Cocvid-19 lockdown, the Uganda National Examinations Board has found a way around the riddle of handling people who have grown by two years in the now constipated school system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the government has to be sensitive to the many poor and rural children who did not attend online classes using tools like zoom or did not hire private teachers, UNEB could not afford to disappoint those who have been diligently earning during the school closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So without violating the no-promotion stance of the government, UNEB has now decided to register pupils who were in Primary Five and Primary Six in March 2020 for the Primary Leaving Examinations of 2022.\u00a0It will also register students who were in Senior Two and Senior Three in March 2020 for the Uganda Certificate of Education (O\u2019level) 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The registration is however neither automatic nor compulsory. The learners will first be vetted and approved by their teachers and those deemed fit to sit the exams will be cleared for registration.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is certain is that UNEB will be examining the biggest number of candidate for PLE and UCE ever in the country\u2019s history.\u00a0What is also certain is that these will be for PLE and UCE certificated of 2022, not 2021 like the 2020 Olympics that remained 2020 although they were held in 2021.t <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
