As Uganda’s military tanks roll and fighter jets fly to strike ADF rebel bases in DR Congo, the Ministry of Works and Transport is also busy deploying construction equipment to build hundreds of kilometres of roads in the neighbouring vast republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Namanve Jinja Road base of Dott Services Limited and the Custom Depot at Namanve Industrial park were a beehive of activity this Wednesday the Works ministry experts reviewed excavators, tractors, rollers, and mobile office and accommodation facilities to be used in DR Congo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roads to be built are Kasindi-Beni (80kms), Kasindi-Butembo Axis (54kms) and Bunagana\u2013Ruchuru-Goma road (89kms). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo have already performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the project that will cost 243.7 billion Shillings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DRC’s Ambassador in Uganda, Jean Pierre Massala, optimistically said once the project is going a long way in strengthening  the relationship between the two countries.

It is expected that on Friday this week, the contractor (Dott Services Limited) will be introduced to DRC leaders and be given a campsite where the equipment currently at Namanve shall be moved to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
