The NRM Secretary General ,Mr. Richard Todwong was today at Namagabi Senior Secondary School where he addressed NRM District leaders from Kayunga ahead of what is anticipated to be a hotly contested by-election .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NRM leadership has embarked on these\u00a0 regional political\u00a0 outreaches\u00a0 purposely\u00a0 to renew commitment with the leaders and the population. Just this week the NRM Party Chairman , Gen. Yoweri Museveni in a lengthy letter addressed to the Party top leadership organ CEC Museveni -one of Africa’s top political thinkers advocated ” interests-based mobilisation” and completely abandon manipulation and obscurantism”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Todwong calld upon the party leaders to join hands , bury their differences and take the party forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProblems are everywhere, even in our families but the issue is the ability to solve them. We are sorry for the wrongs done in the past but now is the time for us to unite,\u201dTodwong said in a new spirited move to unite the party’s mass political base which had been divided due to political intrigue and infighting among some of its past leaders .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have talked and if you have ears, listen to us.\u00a0 The party needs unity and not divisions,\u201d the youthful SG stated . He was addressing local party leaders at various levels from Busaana and Kayunga Sub Counties as well as Kayunga and Busaana town councils at Namagabi Secondary School in Ntenjeru North Constituency in Kayunga district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rt.Hon Todwong said that the new leadership at the NRM secretariat has now opened up a new chapter of consulting local leaders at the grassroots to build up support and counter the national challenges at a focused united front .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe party is not me, the party is not Tanga Odoi or Sseninde. The party is you. Let us all unite. A leader who cant forgive is not a good leader. A leader who can’t allow to be advised is not a good leader. We all have weakness but if we accept to work together, the problems will be solved,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Todwong has moved fast to reach out to the party’s structures and grassroot support acorss the country-which it appears the old guards at the NRM Secretariat had taken for granted and took long periods to engage causing frustrations that saw opposition eating into their base of supporters . Now Todwong at his new team are determined to ensure this is not repeated going into the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NRM director for mobilization, Hon Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde said by opening a new chapter, the party leadership is ready to move out to the population to correct the ills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe want to ensure by 2026 we can return those big percentages we used to enjoy in the past. Give us ideas on how to rectify the problems. Let us learn to forgive each other,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman called upon NRM District leaders to desist from forming cliques, adding that they all belong to the NRM family under their founding father and the Party’s National Chairman H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
