Uganda \u2018s Automotive Industry flagship Kiira Motors Corporation (KMC), have received the African Company of the Year Award which they won following a continental survey involving the peoples\u2019 of Africa who voted for their preferred companies .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 12-category awards are organized by the African Leadership Magazine, which is based in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Africa Magazine the organizers of the awards , over 300, 000 entries were made across social media platforms, as well as submissions via email and physical posts from Africans across the continent and in Diaspora where people voted for the best perfromers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Winners emerged through a keenly contested 3-step points-based selection process that included a call for nomination; a call for online voting for shortlisted nominees; and the editorial board\u2019s final review of the nominations and voting submissions \u2013 using supporting evidence and voting considerations in their final decisions to decide the African Business Leadership Awards 2021 winners. The online voting was responsible for sixty-five percentage points and supporting evidence was responsible for 35% in the final selection process for the 2021 winners.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While receiving the award via zoom, Mr Allan Muhumuza, the Director Sales and Marketing said that the award was an energizing nod to and a recognition of the amazing team at Kiira Motors that is resiliently and selflessly working towards championing value addition in the nascent Automotive Industry in Uganda while creating sustainable mobility solutions in Africa for Africa by Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would like to appreciate our friends, partners and ambassadors that took off their time to show their support and participate in the African Business Leadership Awards 2021 and the African Leadership Magazine for this amazing platform to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and development in Africa,\u201d Muhumuza stated .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also applauded President Yoweri Museveni for his strategic leadership in building the indigenous Automotive Industry in Uganda that has enabled Kiira Motors emerge one of Africa\u2019s leading indigenous automakers who are championing green mobility technologies on the continent .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
