The Kiira Motors Corporation Board of Directors have commended the KMC management and NEC for the quality construction works at the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja which now stands at 85% completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was during a guided tour of the construction site of the plant in the company of Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the general manager National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) under the Uganda People\u2019s Defense Forces (UPDF) and Kiira Motors CEO Paul Isaac Musasizi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kiira Motors Corporation Board led by its Chairman Prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri-Togboa arrived at the plant site in Jinja in the comfort of the luxurious Kayoola Diesel Coach in which they received a briefing and experienced its unique executive features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his brief speech after the tour of the plant, Prof. Tickodri-Togboa expressed his appreciation towards the NEC team for the impressive work they have so far done at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KVP construction work is comprised of 20,000 square meters of the Assembly Building floor, 2,800 square meters of the warehouse area, 5km of site circulation roads, water and power reticulations connected to the municipal water supply system, and the national electricity grid respectively, 1.4km drainage channel, parking areas, and perimeter fence and gate facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KMC Board Deputy Chairperson Ms. Aisha Naiga as well thanked the team for working tirelessly towards completion of the plant and recommended organizing more visits to the plant site especially for the various stakeholders who can potentially provide funding to the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Charles Barugahare, a board member of KMC praised the visible progress of the plant. \u201cI was part of the team that visited the site before construction began.\u00a0 During this visit, I have been able to see visible progress of work done . I must say I am proud to be associated and be part of Kiira Motors’ journey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Board members who attended were Owek. Yudaya Babirye, Mr. Rwankangi Ronald and SR Akiror M. Grace. Mr David Mpanga, the Kiira Motors lawyer also attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kiira Motors Vehicle Plant is being established on 100 acres located at the Jinja Business and Industrial Park. It is designed for a capacity of 22 vehicles per day or 5,000 vehicles per year. The plant\u2019s facilities upon completion will include an assembly shop and plant offices, plant circulation roads, power and water distribution systems, waste management facilities, perimeter fence and gate facilities, drainage system and whole vehicle test facilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
