Luwero Industries Ltd is a subsidiary of National Enterprise Corporation-a commercial\/business arm of Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs\/UPDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kiira Motors Corporation Board was led by its Chairman Prof . Sandy Stevens Tickodri -Togboa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kiira Motors Corporation is mandated to build the Indigenous Motor Vehicle Industry by promoting value addition to Uganda’s minerals and other natural resources with a view of import substitution and export promotion of motor vehicles, vehicle parts, components and systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit came at a time when Kiira Motors Corporation is utilizing the Luwero Industries facilities -where the company\u2019s technical personnel are building fully electric buses- the Kayoola EVS and a diesel executive coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi took the visiting Kiira Board on a guided tour of areas of interest; Central Laboratory, Precision Workshop, R &D, Kiira Motors Assembling Workshop, Oxygen and Nitrogen plant, Veba and Waste Management Incinerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These areas of interest are very important in promoting value addition and supply chain localization in Uganda .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gen Sabiiti pledged total support to Kiira Motors Corporation Board in providing infrastructure for the production of motor vehicles and continuous collaboration in certain aspects of the supply chain as they build capacity within Uganda \u2018s nascent Automotive Industry .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The KMC Board Deputy Chairperson ; Ms. Aisha Naiga, on behalf of Kiira Motors Corporation Board, thanked Gen Sabiiti and Luwero Industries management for the timely invitation and more importantly for allowing Kiira Motors to utilise the facilities to machine and fabricate body parts of the buses locally . She pledged that KMC will continue working with Luwero Industries to ensure supply chain localization, research and development in the development of the Automotive Industry .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other members of the Board included: Dr. Charles Barugahare, Mr. Henry Arinaitwe, Ms Yudaya Babirye, Mr. Rwankangi Ronald, Ms Doris Akol, Ms Christine Sekyana and SR Akiror M. Grace<\/p>\n\n\n\n
