Ugandan policeman Joshua Cheptegei\u00a0 has won his country the second gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when he pulled away to win the tough 5000 metres finals . The win brings to two medals\u00a0 that Cheptegei has won in one Olympic event. He\u00a0 earlier won silver medal in 10,000 metres finals .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He becomes the first Ugandan athlete to win two medals in an Olympic event ever. Earlier in the week another Police Officer Peruth Chemutai won Gold for Uganda in the 3000 metres Steeplechase finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The win was welcomed by jubilating Ugandans across the country as they wet for the final event involving country men – the marathon which will be held on Sunday as the exciting games close to an end.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
