Four star Gen Katumba Wamala has been discharged from Medipal International Hospital just in time to attend his slain loving daughter Brenda Nantongo Wamala \u2018s vigil and church service at his home in Kampala .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gen. Katumba together with his body guard fought back assassins on Tuesday morning who shot and killed his daughter and driver Haruna Kayongo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katumba has since joined mourners at his Najeera home to pray for his daughter . earlier in the day the former Works and Transport Minister released a media statement in which he assured well-wishers that said he was recovering from a surgery that saw one of the bullets removed his body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy injuries are not alarming. I had surgery last evening, and one of the bullets was removed. However, because of how the other bullet affected my arteries, it was not removed, and the doctors will advise on the way forward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI pray that one day soon, the terrorists that tried to assassinate me and took the lives of my daughter Brenda and driver Haruna will be brought to book. For God and my Country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gen. Katumba also commended his escort Sgt. Khalid Koboyoit for the brave fight he put up to fend off the assassins and evacuating him from the crime scene as fast as he did .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katumba\u2019s daughter will be laid to rest at their ancestral home in Mukono tomorrow .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has arrived at his home in Najeera to attend prayers for his daughter Brenda Nantongo who was murdered on Monday along their driver Haruna Kayondo, in an attempt to assassinate Gen Katumba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
