\u00a0<\/a>The woes of retired Church of Uganda Archbishop Stanley Ntagali are not yet \u00a0over after Rev Christopher Tugumehabwe whose\u00a0 wife he \u00a0allegedly had an extra-marital affair with has through his Kabale based lawyers threatened to add him as a party to his divorce -cross petition unless he pays him half a billion shillings in damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ntagali is accused of eloping with Judith Tukamuhabwa, the wife of Rev Christopher Tugumehabwe and he has  since allegedly sired a child with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Rev Tugumehabwe through his lawyers alleges that  whereas he was wedded with Tukamuhabwa in December 2018, Ntagali eloped with his wife which affair has resulted in the birth of a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his notice for intention to sue , Tugumehabwe\u2019s states; \u201cIt has also come to our client\u2019s knowledge that you encouraged, advised and ensured that our client\u2019s wife petitions for divorce. We have also recently learnt from various media platforms of the fact that you admitted to having committed an offence of adultery with our client\u2019s wife. In addition, we have overwhelming video and audio evidence in proof  of the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour unbecoming, sinful and unlawful conducts have occasioned our client general damages to wit- loss of dignity, marriage break down, stress, trauma, embarrassment, loss of privacy, loss of his job as a lecturer at Bishop Barham University college and minimal chances to rise in the clergy ranks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Tugumehabwe has thus demanded compensation in damages amounting to  shs500 million and shs30 million for the costs incurred in the divorce case currently ongoing in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShould you fail to comply with the above demands made therein within a period of 14 days from the date of receipt of this notice, we leave been given \u201ca green Iight\u201d by our client to drag you to court at your own cost, detriment, further embarrassment, and peril,\u201d the lawyers say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ntagali made a public apology for having an affair with a married woman. He publicly asked for forgiveness saying he was tempted by the devil to commit the sin just like any other human being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn Christmas Eve 1974, as a young man I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and I still love the Lord because he has loved me and I have loved to serve him over the years. Sadly, I fell into sin of adultery<\/a> and I confessed to the Lord to forgive me and I want the church to forgive me.
