{"id":2204,"date":"2020-11-10T07:29:48","date_gmt":"2020-11-10T07:29:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugandaupdatenews.com\/?p=2204"},"modified":"2020-11-10T10:11:21","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T10:11:21","slug":"government-allows-political-rallieswith-200-people-opens-casions-betting-houses-and-mobile-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prowebinhost.com\/anzu\/government-allows-political-rallieswith-200-people-opens-casions-betting-houses-and-mobile-markets\/","title":{"rendered":"GOVERNMENT ALLOWS POLITICAL RALLIES WITH 200 PEOPLE , OPENS CASINOS , BETTING HOUSES AND MOBILE MARKETS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Our Special &nbsp;Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After seven months of an economically biting national local down , more businesses have been opened including mobile markets for the peasants mostly in the rural areas, casinos, massage parlours &nbsp;and &nbsp;gyms, according to the Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth&nbsp; Aceng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the election season heats-up, with presidential and other campaigns for thousands seeking for elective political offices , government has now allowed mass gatherings including political rallies , prayers , weddings to have more than 200 people in attendance. However , it is not yet clear how these new measures shall be enforced and who will be responsible in counting the number of people allowed to attend say a political rally .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nabakooba explains new measures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Already , we have seen streams of people lining the highways and others jamming streets when presidential candidates kick-started their campaigns yesterday . Appearing on national TV , today morning- the Minister of Information and NG , Ms. Judith Nabakooba, clarified that it was the responsibility of the political actors at all levels to tell and guide their supporters to &nbsp;strictly follow &nbsp;the Ministry of health and Electoral commission set guidelines and SOPs to avoid the spread of the deadly coronavirus that has left &nbsp;at least 133 Ugandans dead .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nabakooba explained that government has moved in to allow more businesses to operate after carefully studying the situation with schools and churches that were allowed to operate more than a month ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs long as the businesses and churches and schools follow the set guidelines the situation will be manageable and that will greatly inform government\u2019s next cause of action ,\u201d Nabakooba stated on the backdrop of government maintaining the curfew regime the first to be witnesses by the Museveni-dotcom generation .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Acheng advises on bars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bars shall remain closed although the Minister of health advised that in the meanwhile , they can be used as restaurants . The opened business will operate from 6.30am to 7pm and the general curfew hours shall remain in place from 9pm to 5.30am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a spirited defence of the government measures that have yielded positive results by largely &nbsp;containing &nbsp;the spread of the novel global coronavirus ,President Yoweri &nbsp;Museveni recently said it was time to allow business owners and operators to return to their jobs .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Museveni Rallies Ugandans to be innovative , sell and buy Ugandan products<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President has also continued to rally Ugandans to buy and sell Ugandan made products to boost local manufacturing especially in this Covid era when the global economy is on its knees .
