Police in Kampala Metropolitan Area have raided and arrested 21 suspects who were \u00a0participating in a sex party in Kireka a suburb of Kampala\u00a0 as people continue to defy the prolonged curfew and lock down of entertainment centers including bars due to the Covid -19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Patrick Onyango said that police now have in their custody 21 suspects mainly women of different age groups who were caught engaging in group sexual orgy in a private residential home .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe party was taking place in a private house located in Kireka, Kira Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intelligence got information about the party and planted informants to monitor and inform the police when the party has started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTowards midnight, the police was notified that the sex games had started and we swung in action. We got the participants red handed,\u201d Onyango stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrested suspects who are now detained at Kira Division Police Station, Police said, will be taken to court and charged with disobedience of lawful orders and doing acts that are likely to cause the spread of infectious disease, which is coronavirus. Their files are being prepared and they will appear in court tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, activities who spoke to this publication called upon government to ease the curfew hours and open up bars like other countries have done including Kenya and Tanzania for people not to engage in criminal activity .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c The entertainment industry was employing many people especially the youth . Many of such people are locked out of business for almost a year now . Where does government expect them to get income to survive . That\u2019s why people are now being creative by organizing group sex -drink -up parties and many have turned their homes into bars for entertainment ,\u201d the activists who declined to be named for fear of being arrested said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even when there is a curfew from 9pm to 6am, many Ugandans go to bars quietly and enjoy upto the wee hours of the day . There has also been marked increase in private house parties where guests engage in sexual orgies .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some people say they now stay out late to avoid the gridlock evening traffic jams that have come to define Kampala roads . On most major roads in Kampala , motorists experience jam from 5pm when people break off from work up to well over midnight .
