Schools will be allowed to reopen on October 15, 2020 for the candidate classes but bars will remain closed and the curfew shall be maintained from 9pm to 6am\u00a0 , President Yoweri Museveni announced yesterday .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni said that schools will re-open for the candidate classes of P-7, S-4, S-6, finalists in tertiary colleges and in universities. Entebbe International Airport and land borders will now be opened for tourists provided they tested negative 72 hours before arrival in Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tour operators are also mandated to ensure that the tourists do not mix with the Ugandans. Returning Ugandans, who have negative PCR results, will be allowed to go home as long as the ministry of Health will get their addresses for follow up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni made the announced five months since he placed the country in a lockdown to contain the spread of the novel -global- COVID-19 pandemic. Places of worship wil re-open but while observing the necessary SOPs and having congregations not exceeding 70 people .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Night prayers and transnight prayers will not be allowed. The president further stated that open air activities of sports will re-open provided there are no spectators and the players are tested for Covid-19, 72 hours before. This test will expire in 14 days. Hence, the Sportsmen will have to repeat the test every fortnight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For tournaments participating teams will be quarantined for the whole season of the competition. However, indoor sports activities, including gyms will remain closed same as casinos, gaming centres, bars and cinemas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
