The Ministry of Internal Affairs has revealed 40 destinations that Ugandan passport holders can travel to without obtaining a visa in advance, highlighting the growing strength and global recognition of the Ugandan passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the ministry, Ugandans can now enjoy visa-free access or visa-on-arrival privileges across several regions, including Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and Oceania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the countries listed are Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Sudan, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Eswatini, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the ministry emphasised that visa-free travel does not mean travelers can enter these countries without meeting other immigration requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Simon Mundeyi, the spokesperson for the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, however , emphasised that Ugandans must still comply with international travel documentation standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that travelers will be required to present a valid passport, a return air ticket, and proof of confirmed hotel bookings upon arrival in the destination country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mundeyi said the development reflects the continued improvement of Uganda\u2019s international travel standing, giving citizens more opportunities to travel for tourism, business, and other engagements without the lengthy visa application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
