Ugandan authorities have arrested popular TikTok user \u201cPressure 24 Seven\u201d following renewed allegations of publishing what officials describe as malicious and demeaning content targeting senior cultural leaders in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Musana , is accused of masterminding and circulating controversial video clips on TikTok under the username @Pressure_24seven. The posts allegedly targeted the Kabaka of Buganda, Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi and other senior figures in the kingdom, including the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security agencies, including the Uganda Police Force and Crime Intelligence services, confirmed that Musana was taken into custody after \u201cthorough investigations\u201d into the origin and distribution of the videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement released by police, the complaint was formally initiated by the Kingdom of Buganda after a series of posts were deemed defamatory and harmful. The statement emphasized that the publications were \u201cfrivolous, demeaning, malicious, and baseless,\u201d and that legal steps have been taken to safeguard the dignity of the kingdom and its leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police said that investigators tracked the digital footprint associated with the TikTok account and linked it to Musana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThrough collaborative efforts among various security agencies, we were able to apprehend the individual responsible for creating and sharing the malicious media clips circulating on social media platforms,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Uganda Police further confirmed that Pressure 24 Seven remains in custody as investigations continue. Authorities revealed that evidence, including video materials and digital records, had been obtained and would form part of the case file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not first gtime Musana has come in contact with the law . He was previously arrested in February 2024 on related allegations and later released. At the time, he reportedly spent several weeks on remand at Luzira Prison before regaining his freedom pending further legal proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Legal analysts note that Uganda\u2019s Computer Misuse Act and other relevant laws provide authorities with the mandate to act against individuals accused of cyber harassment, offensive communication, or defamation conducted via digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of now, formal charges against Ibrahim have not been publicly detailed, but police have assured the public that due process will be followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
