<\/figure>\n\n\n\nAccording to police, preliminary findings indicate that a housemaid at the residence spotted an unknown man inside her bedroom at about 2:00am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect was reportedly dressed in the deceased\u2019s jeans and stockings. Upon being noticed, the man fled the scene carrying a laptop bag belonging to Tumwebaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The maid, together with the children, immediately went to check on Tumwebaze and found her unresponsive in her bed. She was rushed to Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, SP Racheal Kawala, said specialized task teams have since been deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cInvestigations are ongoing, and operations are underway to identify, trace, and arrest the suspect,\u201d Kawala said, adding that police are committed to ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The motive behind the murder has not yet been established, and police have urged anyone with information that could aid investigations to come forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tumwebaze\u2019s death has sent shockwaves through the UCU community and the wider Mukono area, where she was known for her role in student affairs and administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pamela Tumwebaze, will be rembered as a young administrator remembered as a compassionate mentor and devoted mother whose life was cut short in a violent attack at her home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students, staff, clergy and alumni expressed deep sorrow, describing her as a steady and caring presence in the lives of many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rev. Prof. John Kitayimbwa, a senior cleric at the university, conveyed the announcement in a statement reflecting the gravity of the loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt is deeply saddening that Uganda Christian University has lost our beloved Pamela, our Director of Student Affairs, also known as the Dean of Students. We are heartbroken and ask for your prayers,\u201d he said, quoting Psalm 90:12: \u201cTeach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rev.
