Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has told her Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni that works for an East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project were on track to finish in five months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Museveni is on an official working visit on the invitation of Tanzania\u2019s first female leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a meeting between the two leaders in Dar es Salaam over the weekend President Hassan said the transportation of crude oil will begin as early as July of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pipeline project worth $5 billion will facilitate oil exports from landlocked Uganda through the Tanga port in Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presidents Hassan and Museveni hailed the project as the benchmark model of fruitful bilateral relations between Tanzania and Uganda, two countries bound together by history, georgraphy and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their meeting focussed on trade, infrastructure, regional peace, establishing rail links, building natural gas and petroleum pipelines, and eliminating trade barriers between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
