Gen . Salim Saleh has dismissed claims that he is behind the demolition of St. Peters church in Ndeeba that has caused public outrage and condemnation .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking before bishops led by the archbishop of Uganda ,Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, General Saleh said he was not a mad man to engage in such unlawful and reckless behaviour to grab church land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor that matter I want to swear before you the Bishops and the archbishop that in the name of God I\u2019m not involved in these evil practices,\u201d Saleh stated to the applause of the clergy men . the Bishops had earlier visited the razed church grounds , prayed and promised to rebuild the church considered to be one of the historic sites in Kampala city .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lands minister Betty Kamya said: \u201cAll those involved would be dealt with decisively because their actions were terror intended and causing hate against government.\u201d Three police officers, including Katwe Division Police Commander David Epedu, three of his juniors and 11 others have been arrested on orders of Kampala Metropolitan Police commander Moses Kafeero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
