President Faure Essozimna Gnassingb\u00e9 of the Republic of Togo has arrived in Uganda on a working visit as part of the African Union\u2013East African Community\u2013Southern African Development Community (AU\u2013EAC\u2013SADC) Panel of Facilitators on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) peace process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The high-level panel brings together former and serving African leaders, including H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, H.E. Sahle-Work Zewde, H.E. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, and H.E. Catherine Samba-Panza. The facilitators are tasked with advancing dialogue and coordinated regional efforts aimed at restoring stability and achieving lasting peace in eastern DRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regional leaders reaffirmed their collective commitment to peaceful dialogue and sustainable solutions to the conflict, underscoring the importance of African-led initiatives in resolving regional challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting, part of the AU\u2013East African Community (EAC)\u2013Southern African Development Community (SADC) Panel of Facilitators, focused on harmonizing mediation strategies to curb the ongoing conflict involving armed groups like M23 and alleged cross-border incursions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They have been welcomed by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House , Entebbe<\/p>\n\n\n\n
