Uganda\u2019s Prime Minister , Robinah Nabbanja, will on Thursday November 20th<\/sup>,225 flag off the country \u2018s mobility industry leaders Kiira Motors Corporation\u2019s new Kayoola Electric Coach 13-metre Model 2025 -on a 13,000-kilometre road expedition across six African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The month-long journey, which begins on November 20 and ends on December 20, will take the 13-metre e-coach through Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, Eswatini and Cape Town, South Africa in a bid to activate new markets, secure sales, and elevate the visibility of Ugandan-made technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expedition is designed to promote Uganda \u2018s e-mobility solutions while demonstrating  the reliability and excellence of the Kayoola E-Coach, a vehicle designed and built in Africa, for Africa and its critical digital infrastructure and smart solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0A 42-member team will travel aboard the 62-seater coach, supported by a portable charging system and full-time connectivity from MTN, the expedition\u2019s main sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to company  officials, the \u201cMade in Uganda to Southern Africa\u201d expedition is also intended to activate the southern Africa regional market for innovations and products made in Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Monica Musenero, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, urged the team to embody Uganda\u2019s innovative spirit on the continental stage. \u201cThere is power in ideas and the wealth God has given us to inherit is in ideas,\u201d she said. \u201cWherever you go, carry the pride of the Pearl of Africa and be the best.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KMC Chief Executive Office r, (CEO ) Paul Isaac Musasizi ,described the mission as an \u201celectric trans-African exhibition of technology and innovation,\u201d showcasing not only the Kayoola E-Coach but the full range of products emerging from Uganda\u2019s innovation ecosystem. \u201cWe are taking Made in Uganda to Africa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawyer David Mpanga the KMC’s General Counsel and Corporation Secretary , thanked President Yoweri Museveni \u00a0and the government of Uganda for his \u00a0leadership and unwavering support for Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) that has created the fertile ground in which enterprises like Kiira Motors can flourish and achieve big remarkable milestones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mpanga also equally applauded STI Minister  Dr. Musenero Masanza for her dedicated mentorship, tireless leadership, and vision that has been instrumental in steering the entire KMC  team towards success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis expedition, powered by the Kayoola Electric Coach, is a powerful statement. For Uganda, it represents the transition from potential to reality, a visible demonstration of our commitment to sustainable industrialization and clean energy technology.\u00a0For Africa, this expedition is a beacon of hope and a tangible example of what is possible when we harness our own ingenuity.\u00a0 It showcases that the future of mobility and innovation can and should be Made in Africa, by Africans,\u201d he said .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uganda\u2019s foreign missions, the Uganda Export Promotion Board, Uganda Airlines and multiple private stakeholders are backing the initiative, which aligns with national efforts to scale indigenous technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kayoola E-Coach 13-metre Model 2025 is Africa’s Premium All-Electric Bus with a 422 KWH battery and zero tailpipe emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
