<\/figure>\n\n\n\nHe commended his colleagues in the government of Uganda for their warm hospitality and impeccable organization. \u201cWe also commend the AALCO Secretariat for its tireless efforts in facilitating this important gathering, which continues to serve as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and cooperation among Asian and African States on matters of international law,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOver the past six days, we have not just engaged in deliberations but witnessed the reaffirmation of solidarity, equality, and the rule of law which bind our continents together. We commend the robust discussions on topics such as the law of the sea, environmental ustainability, asset recovery, and the evolving frameworks of international trade and investment and Outer space that have taken place over the course of the session.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the Session emphasis was placed by several delegations on the need for equitable access to maritime and outer space resources which resonates deeply with all member states given that the sea and outer space is a common heritage of mankind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Member States called for a rules-based international order that respects the sovereignty and developmental aspirations of all nations, particularly those in the Global South, was prominent in the course of the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deliberations on climate change and sustainable development have been compelling, particularly the need to address the disproportionate impacts of climate change on developing nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The call for strengthened partnerships, legal frameworks and the urgent need for the implementation of the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussions on international trade and investment law also highlighted the importance of balancing economic growth with social justice and environmental protection. The delegations strongly advocated for reforms to global trade systems that promote fairness and inclusivity, ensuring that developing nations are not marginalized in the global economic order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kiryowa noted that throughout the deliberations of this session, we have had a rich tapestry of<\/p>\n\n\n\n
perspectives from Member States, reflecting our shared commitment to addressing pressing global challenges through the lens of international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAALCO continues to embody the Bandung Spirit of friendship, solidarity,and cooperation, ensuring that the voices of Asia and Africa resonate inmultilateral institutions. At a time when global governance is under strainfrom fragmentation, unilateralism, and protectionism, AALCO serves as aunifying platform that strengthens South\u2013South cooperation and upholds the principles of the UN Charter,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ALLCO President noted that the path ahead will not be without challenges. Yet, with purpose, unity, solidarity, dialogue, and cooperation, we shall continue to transform<\/p>\n\n\n\n
challenges into opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kiryowa asked the delegates to leave Kampala with a renewed sense of purpose, strengthened solidarity, and a firm commitment to build a future defined by peace, prosperity, and justice for the peoples of Asia and Africa, through the pursuits of AALCO\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Secretary General Dr. Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol expressrd deep appreciation for Uganda\u2019s exceptional hospitality. \u201cOn behalf of the Asian\u2013African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), I thank the Government and people of Uganda for their exceptional hospitality as we hold this important session in Kampala,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe #AALCO63 session was not only a platform for dialogue and collaboration but also a true celebration of friendship, solidarity, and shared vision,\u201d Dr. Kamalinne emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deliberations touched on urgent global issues: the law of the sea, environmental sustainability, asset recovery, international trade, and outer space governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Member States called for equitable access to maritime and outer space resources, recognizing them as the common heritage of mankind. They urged a rules-based international order that respects sovereignty and the developmental goals of the Global South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Climate change featured prominently. Delegates highlighted the disproportionate impact on vulnerable nations and stressed the principle of common but differentiated responsibility. Stronger legal frameworks were identified as essential for climate justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trade and investment discussions underscored the need to balance economic growth with social justice and environmental protection. Delegates urged reforms to ensure that developing nations are not marginalized in the global system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond the plenaries, side events enriched dialogue. Discussions covered cybercrime, ISDS reform, international investment disputes, and access to credit. These engagements broadened perspectives and provided technical insights on critical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bilateral meetings between Member States and institutions strengthened partnerships. Many countries expressed readiness to deepen collaboration on shared legal and developmental challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The closing ceremony was attended by Hon. Nobert Mao, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, who represented the Government of Uganda. His presence symbolized Uganda\u2019s commitment to international legal cooperation and the success of AALCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Kamalinne concluded by emphasizing that AALCO remains anchored in the Bandung Spirit of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation. \u201cFrom cybercrime to sea-level rise, the Organisation continues to bridge regional priorities with global legal frameworks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kampala session reaffirmed AALCO\u2019s role as a vital forum for dialogue on global legal issues. By amplifying the voice of the Global South, AALCO ensures that Asia and Africa shape solutions to pressing challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda\u2019s hosting of #AALCO63 strengthened its reputation as a valued partner in international law and global governance. The session closed with optimism and resolve to turn words into action for the benefit of future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
