The National Resistance Movement (NRM) swept the Mityana District National Youth Council elections taking 142 positions out of the available 153 at subcounty level .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Political observers attributed the massive win to the good political mobilisation and effective implementation of government programs like the PDM and youth empowerment interventions being undertaken under the strict supervision of the district political leaders led by Minister of Lands ,Housing and Urban Development , Ms. Judith Nabakooba .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOut of 153 positions at subcounty level, NRM party got 142, NUP 10 and one independent from all the 14 sub-counties and three divisions in Mityana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese youth elections have demonstrated that the NUP wave is no more in Mityana . The people have realised that the NUP elected officials have not delivered on their promises in the last five years .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the government economic programs including the fight against unemployment among the youth have been beneficial to the people of Mityana and with Minister Nabakooba working with district officials to monitor the development programs the NRM base has been energized ,\u201d officials stated .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
