Adebayo Akinfenwa stole the show after Wycombe Wanderers sealed promotion to the Championship<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chairboys defeated Oxford United in the League One playoff final at Wembley Stadium to reach the second tier of English football for the first time in their history. It was a special day for the club and nobody appeared to enjoy it more than Akinfenwa<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 38-year-old couldn\u2019t hide his excitement and the result was one of the best post-match interviews of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFour years ago I stood in front of you and I was technically unemployed,\u201d Akinfenwa told the interviewer, as he took a break from the hysterics to deliver a poignant line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Akinfenwa was born in Islington<\/a>, North London and is of Nigerian descent. His father is a Muslim and his mother is a Christian, and while Akinfenwa observed Ramadan<\/a> as a child, he is now a Christian. He is a close friend of Clarke Carlisle<\/a>, his former teammate at Northampton Town<\/a>.
