The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala has launched the new Karibuni Business Lounge at Entebbe International Airport, marking another important milestone in efforts to enhance the passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new lounge offers enhanced facilities, including baby changing rooms, an infant playroom, a designated smoking area, a prayer room, three supplementary massage chairs, high-speed Wi-Fi, a relaxation room, and a conference room all within a more serene environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sitting capacity is also increased from 160 to 300. Speaking at the launch, Gen. Katumba expressed gratitude to both UCAA and the management of Karibuni Lounge for taking public feedback into consideration and improving the facilities. \u201cIt is always important to understand and identify the needs of travelers and aim to surpass their expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe that the new lounge will be a valuable addition to the airport\u2019s ambience and enhance the passenger experience,\u201d he said. He further emphasized that the upgrade is not merely about aesthetics but a reflection of Uganda\u2019s readiness to meet the evolving needs of international travelers and position Entebbe as a competitive regional gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCAA Director General, Mr. Fred K. Bamwesigye noted that the refurbished Karibuni Lounge reflects our unwavering focus on improving the travel experience, promoting seamless service delivery, and upholding Uganda\u2019s image as a warm and welcoming destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new lounge is part of what UCAA described as \u201canother important milestone in efforts to enhance the passenger experience.\u201d Designed to accommodate up to 300 passengers, an increase from the previous 160, the facility features a range of amenities intended to improve passenger comfort, including baby changing rooms, an infant playroom, a designated smoking area, a prayer room, massage chairs, high-speed Wi-Fi, a relaxation room, and a conference room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, following some public concerns about the new facility’s general outlook, Vianney Luggya, UCAA\u2019s manager of public affairs, confirmed that changes are being considered to make it even much better .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs the airport operator, we remain committed to working closely with all our concessionaires and stakeholders to ensure that services and aesthetics meet the high standards our passengers look forward to,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
