Mr. Emmanuel \u00a0Freddie Mugunga has been appointed the new \u00a0Under Secretary and Accounting Officer of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development taking over from Ms. Prisca Boonabantu who has retired from public service.\u00a0 Mr. Mugunga was formerly the Under Secretary at the new strategic Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation ,(MoSTI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Mugunga whose new appointment is effective this month will work together with the Permanent Secretary at the equally important Ministry of Energy , Mr. Robert Kasande. The political head of the Ministry is Dr. Goretti Kitutu who is making sweeping administrative changes among the many multi million dollar projects to make them more efficient and beneficial to the Ugandan people .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the giant projects at the Ministry include the Rural Electrification Project which has hitherto performed dismally leading to the retirement of its long serving Executive Director , the Karuma and Isimba dams among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Mugunga who has been instrumental in championing Uganda\u2019s quest to develop a robust automotive industry with its flagship Kiira Motors Corporation at the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation , has also served at the Ministries of Ministry of Public Service\u00a0, Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development\u00a0, Ministry of Internal Affairs\u00a0, Ministry of Local Government\u00a0and Public Service Commission\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The career public servant , Mugunga is also the Chairperson of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda (an association that brings together beneficiaries of the Chevening Scholarship for their Masters Studies in the United Kingdom and \u00a0Public Administrators Association of Uganda (an association that brings together all administrators from Assistant Secretary to Under Secretary in the Central Government and all Hospital administrators).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
