{"id":14510,"date":"2025-05-26T14:20:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-26T14:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugandaupdatenews.com\/?p=14510"},"modified":"2025-05-26T14:20:45","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T14:20:45","slug":"high-court-judge-namanya-nullifies-kawempe-north-mp-by-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prowebinhost.com\/anzu\/high-court-judge-namanya-nullifies-kawempe-north-mp-by-election\/","title":{"rendered":"High Court Judge Namanya nullifies Kawempe North MP by-election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The High Court has nullified the election of Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola as the MP for Kawempe Division North, Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justice Bernard Namanya, declared the seat vacant and ordered the Electoral Commission to organize a fresh election for the constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ruling, delivered by Justice Bernard Namanya, followed a successful petition by Faridah Nambi Kigongo of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), who challenged Nalukoola\u2019s election on grounds of electoral malpractice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his judgment, Justice Namanya cited two main reasons for the nullification.
