The Head Coach of Uganda\u2019s Parliamentary Football Team, Tom Lwanga, has unveiled a final squad of 26 players set to represent the nation at the 14th East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tournament will run from December 6th to 17th, 2024, in Mombasa, Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team departs for Kenya on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, ready to showcase their skills in the region\u2019s premier legislative sports event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The games are expected to gather approximately 3,500 participants, including 1,200 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the eight EAC member states: Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, South Sudan, Somalia, DR Congo, and the host nation, Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda\u2019s football team, the record holders, will kick off their campaign against the Kenya National Assembly on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at Mbaraki Stadium, the venue designated for football matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coach Tom Lwanga expressed confidence in his squad despite the absence of prominent midfielder and Ajuri County MP, Hamson Dennis Obua, due to unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team will rely on the leadership and skills of key players such as State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang, Kampala Central MP Mohammad Nsereko, and Denis Sekabira to secure goals and victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President William Ruto, the newly elected chairperson of the EAC, is set to preside over the grand opening ceremony at Mbaraki Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This event, initiated in 2009 by a resolution of the 4th Bureau of Speakers, aims to foster regional collaboration and strengthen ties between the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and national parliaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
