This achievement marked the beginning of a remarkable career in secondary education, starting with his assignment at Masaka Secondary School. He later held key roles at Kololo High School, including Head of the English Department, Director of Studies, and Head Teacher, before his pivotal move to Kibuli SS.

Transforming Kibuli SS

Kaawaase’s tenure at Kibuli Secondary School began on September 11, 1978, when he succeeded his friend, Abbas Seguya. His leadership philosophy centered on discipline, hard work, and holistic development, aiming to nurture both academic brilliance and extracurricular excellence. Under his stewardship, Kibuli SS gained a reputation for producing top-performing students while excelling in sports, particularly football, which became a hallmark of the school’s identity.

Beyond academics, Kaawaase fostered a culture of transparency and collaboration, earning respect from students, staff, and the broader community. His influence extended well beyond Kibuli SS, contributing significantly to Uganda’s education system and setting standards that continue to inspire.

Family and Values

Kaawaase resides in Kawempe and is the proud father of 11 children, all of whom hold at least a Master’s degree—a testament to his belief in the transformative power of education.
