The Uganda Peoples\u2019 Defence Forces (UPDF) Mountain Warfare Training School has passed out 166 soldiers who completed a 16-week Mountain Warfare Technical Course in Karugutu, Ntoroko district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the pass out ceremony, Col Godfrey Kyomuhendo, the Division Operation and Training Officer, urged the new graduates to serve their country with dedication, integrity, and sincerity, underscoring the importance of these values in making a meaningful impact through their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on the successes of Operation Shujaa, Col Kyomuhendo stated, \u201cThe Wanaichi are back in their homes, schools have reopened, markets are operational. So, get ready to join your colleagues to flush out the few remaining scattered terrorists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt Col Jedidiah Kiyengo, Commandant of the school, highlighted that the training provided essential knowledge, skills, and techniques needed for effective operation in high-altitude environments. He encouraged the graduates to maintain the discipline they exhibited during training and to prioritise their health for the defence of Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outstanding trainees included Pte Olara Emma, recognised as the best overall student, and Pte Naturinda Sandra, awarded as the best female student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony was attended by Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Ntoroko Maj (Rtd) Jones Mugabirwe, UPDF senior and junior officers, the District Police Commander (DPC) Ntoroko, local government leaders, and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
