A Memorandum of Understanding 9MoU for the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Uganda and Serbia was signed on October 25, 2024, on the side-lines of the Joint Commission for Trade Cooperation held in Serbia from October 23-27, 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ugandan delegation, which was led by Gen Wilson Mbadi, included the state minister for Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives , officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Ministry of Works and Transport,\u00a0State House Diaspora Affairs Unit, the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports, and Industrial Development (PACEID) and Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following similar engagements at the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN) in Malaysia from October 21-25, 2024, at which Uganda signed another BASA with Oman and held discussions with Latvia, the total number of BASAs has increased from Fifty-Six (56) to Fifty-Eight (58). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
BASAs enhance connectivity, pave the way for the commencement of flights between states, and a mechanism for air transport regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
