Entebbe International Airport has registered increased passenger traffic with the month of August 2024, having a record 212,701 international passengers, an average of 6,861 passengers per day, the highest in the history of the airport in a single month, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Spokesperson, Mr. Vianney Luggya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The totals have 108,055 were departing, and 104,646 were arriving passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe second highest figure recorded at Entebbe International Airport in a single month was a total of 198,961, an average of 6,418 per day, in December 2023, while the third highest was in January 2024, a total of 196,211 international passengers (99,216 arriving and 96,995 departing), an average of 6,329 per day,\u201d Luggya said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In relation to cargo, the airport handled 3,525 metric tones of exports and 1,885 metric tones of imports, a total of 5,410 metric tones in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
International tourist arrivals reached 1,274,210 visitors, up 56.5 percent from 2022 (814,508).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
