Donald Trump<\/a> has faced another apparent assassination attempt<\/a> after shots were fired at one of his golf courses in Florida,<\/a> the FBI<\/a> has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former president is safe and unharmed<\/a> and the bureau says it is investigating the latest security episode involving the Republican presidential nominee, just nine weeks after he survived a previous attempt on his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A man was spotted aiming an AK-47-type rifle at Trump\u2019s West Palm Beach golf course while concealed in shrubbery about 400 yards to 500 yards away from the politician when he was spotted by Secret Service<\/a> agents and fled the scene, dropping his weapon and fleeing in an SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was later stopped by police and taken into custody in a neighboring county, according to local sheriff Ric Bradshaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect has since been named as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, <\/a>across multiple reports, with the alleged gunman<\/a> believed to have expressed his willingness to \u201cfight and die\u201d in Ukraine<\/a> in social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have since found two backpacks hanging on a fence and a GoPro camera at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident comes two months after Trump was shot in the ear by a sniper <\/a>at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
