All three rounds of the women\u2019s steeplechase have now finished, and its the defending gold medallist who leads all qualifiers with the top time of 9:10.51.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were huge roars around the Stade de France during heat 3 for Alice Finot (FRA), who has also progressed to Tuesday\u2019s final as the eighth-fastest qualifier (9:14.78).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chemutai is the Ugandan record holder for the 3000 m steeplechase and 5 kilometres road race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peruth Chemutai won the gold medal in the women\u2019s 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, becoming the first Ugandan woman ever to win an Olympic medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This ambitious athlete also has Silver medals from the 2023 All-Africa Games in Accra and the 2018 World U20 Championships in Tampere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
