The Uganda Athletics Federation has named the Uganda team that will participate in the highly anticipated 2024 Paris Olympics that will begin on July 26..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda will have participants in the Athletics, Rowing, Cycling and Swimming events . Team Uganda will have 20 athletes including gold medal prospects , Jacob Kiplimo, Oscar Chelimo, and Victor Kiplangat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
World Record beater Joshua Cheptegei, is part of the team that will run in the 5,000m and 10,000m events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Uganda brought home four medals with eruth Chemutai winning gold, Jacob Kiplimo bronze, and Joshua Cheptegei (gold and silver).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda has a long history of winning medals in the olympics starting with the late John Akibua who won gold in the 400m hurdles, in Munich 1972, Davis Kamoga brought home a bronze medal in 400m, 1996- Atlanta, and Stephen Kiprotich won gold in Marathon, 2012 London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
