Protestors in Nairobi marched to the national parliament buildings breached security stole the Speaker’s ,mace and even served themselves food in the cafeteria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kenyan rioters mainly the youth are protesting high taxes proposed in this year’s controversial finance bill, including a 16% levy on bread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Eldoret the backyard of President William Ruto, the Kenyan rioters stormed, vandalized and looted a club in associated with Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club known as Timber XO is located along the Eldoret, Nairobi road. The club was officially opened a few weeks ago during a ceremony attended by Sudi and several other MPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protestors marched from Eldoret CBD to the club where they stormed and destroyed glass walls, windows and doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police arrived as some of the protesters gained entry into parliament and the club and took off with some items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenya\u2019s government has since scrapped some proposed taxes after a public outcry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement by MPs came as police fired tear gas and used water cannon to try to disperse angry protesters in the capital, Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dozens of people have been arrested, and lawyers earlier joined chanting crowds at the city’s main police station to demand that detainees be freed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since coming to office in 2022, President William Ruto has introduced several new and unpopular taxes with the aim of eliminating the country\u2019s national debt of nearly $80bn (\u00a363bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
