In jinja<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Science ,Technology and Innovation led by their Chairman , Eng. Alex Niyonsaba ,\u00a0have visited the Kiira Vehicle Plant at the Jinja Industrial and Business Park in Jinja while exercising their constitutional oversight mandate .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They expressed satisfaction about  the construction work and installation of modern vehicle production equipment that is being carried out  at the facility which will be the biggest in East And Central Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MPs were received at the KVP by the Kiira Motors Corporation (KMC) ,Executive Chairman , Prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri-Togboa , CEO , Mr. Paul Isaac Musasizi and the Dr. Cosmas Mwikirize, from the STI Secretariat Office of the President .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MPs pledged that they will work with the KMC management and the team at the STI Secretariat led by the STI Minister, Dr. Monica Musenero, to ensure that all the needed financial support is provided for the startup facilities at the plant to be completed on time .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MPs also inspected and were driven on latest 2024 models of the Kayoola fully electric and diesel coaches being produced by Uganda\u2019s automotive industry flagship Kiira Motors Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is at the Kiira Vehicle Plant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kiira Plant has the following Facilities\u2019; Body Shop for frame and body manufacturing; Paint Shop for painting the body of the vehicles; Chassis Line for chassis systems (steering system, brake system and axle and suspension systems) integration; trim and final assembly shop for floor boards, glass and trim assembly; a modern \u00a0QIT for quality inspection and testing including a test track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kiira Vehicle Plant (KVP) is also \u00a0supported by \u00a0a water treatment plant, energy sub station ,LPG system washing facility and road networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
