Samantha Muhwezi, daughter to Ugandan security minister Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, has recently taken on the role of\u00a0Chief Operating Officer (COO)\u00a0<\/strong>at the\u00a0Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established under the 2013 Petroleum Act<\/strong>, <\/strong>UNOC is responsible for managing Uganda\u2019s oil sector interests, with a focus on sustainable exploitation of the country\u2019s commercially viable oil resources<\/a>.<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n


As the UNOC COO, Samantha Muhwezi supervises several critical units within the company, including the T<\/strong>echnical Services Department<\/strong>, <\/strong>National Content Department<\/strong>, <\/strong>Health and Safety Department<\/strong>, as well as Supply Chain and IT Department<\/strong><\/a>. Her position involves overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient functioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samantha Muhwezi\u2019s impressive education profile and experience having previous worked at TotalEnergies ,contributed to her selection for the  topjob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She holds a Bachelor of Laws<\/strong>from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)<\/strong>, a <\/strong>Postgraduate Diploma<\/strong>,<\/strong> and a Master of Laws<\/strong> from BPP University London UK<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales<\/strong>.<\/strong>  Samantha Muhwezi worked with Linklaters LLP<\/strong>, a renowned corporate and financial law firm<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0She worked at French \u2018s TotalEnergies S.E.<\/strong> where she participated \u00a0in negotiations related to the oil pipeline project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is married to Jasi Kassami a son to former Secretary to Treasury , the late Chris Kassami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
