NUP’s former Leader Of Opposition (LOP) Mathias Mpuuga has hit back at Kyagulanyi’s NUP officials saying that he will not be deterred by ” small group family interests being peddled to blur bigger picture of how the party is being managed without transparency and the general mistreatment of other leaders in the party.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mpuuga has also vowed not to resign his post as a Commissioner at the national parliament . This after NUP leaders accused him of taking Ug.Shs.500M as a token “service award” from parliament .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI accordingly decline the cowardly call on me to resign as a Parliamentary Commissioner, based on spite, envy and deliberate misrepresentation. The general public is aware and alive to the internal intrigue and machinations unfortunately within this young party over the last 21\/2 years, during my occupation of the covered office of the LOP. It became the official style of different party leaders to undermine my work, including hiring of bloggers to abuse and insult my person\u201d-Mpuuga\u2019s statement reads in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
